The practical origin of linen is a rough, resilient plant called flax, which is bleached and softened to create durable and luxurious fabric. Stronger and softer than cotton, linen drapes beautifully and feels wonderful against the skin. Linen's natural beauty makes it timeless, but the real attraction lies in the fabrics ability to “breathe” making it cooling in the summer and warming in the winter. Although it has long been the bedding of choice in Europe, the extra ironing it requires sometimes deters Americans from experiencing its benefits. Linen naturally is static free, which makes it less prone to soiling than other fabrics.

The Italian Linen is a high quality pure linen that requires “DRY CLEAN ONLY” care.   Please be advised that linens will shrink if not cared for properly.  Skip Gambert & Associates will not be responsible for any linen shirt that shrinks, if inspection proves that our care label instruction was not followed.  Please note the “DRY CLEAN ONLY” displayed on the Italian Linen swatch card and inform your customer regarding the “DRY CLEAN ONLY” care label sewn in the shirt tail.  Please also alert your customer to the hazards of water and linen resulting in shrinkage, as this is not a washable linen.
